Either you applied for a job and were deemed "overqualified" or your friend can't seem to get hired even with a Masters.
What does it mean?
Isn't the more qualified you are, the better? Not necessarily.
When you have more experience than the job requires, it becomes a problem especially in the salary area.
If you have more qualifications than the person interviewing you, you could pose as a threat to him/her when it's time for promotions.
